The session was conducted in parts, Firstly it was Mr.Anand who took on Commodities. He spoke about the growth pattern in India since its inception in this country. It was more of an interactive session as there was lots of questions thrown on him by the young budding managers of IIPM. He emphasized more on current commodity and what are the new policies which are coming into force. The basic criteria towards which participants can knock in this field as a career option.
Mr. Pawan continued the lively session with his expertise on Derivatives. He made a point that more practical knowledge is required in this big ocean as derivatives. He spoke about the options available in derivative field. He also conveyed the whole session with lots of real time experience in this field.

It was an enlightening moment for all the budding MBAs on 20-07-06 when they listened to Mr.Rafi Mohammed Syed on the topic, “Essential Financial Angles (Metrics) for Budding Managers”. When already waiting for an opportunity to plug in, it was almost a fabulous backup from Mr.Rafi Mohammed Syed who took the entire batch through the ways and means of transforming dream into reality. His efforts towards taking all of them through the most important and highly complicated subject was unimpeachably made him gain more respect. The unflagging participation from the students stands as the testimony to the afore-mentioned facts.
The seminar had the following essence:
What are all the essential financial aspects one must look into while starting a business?
What are the sources of fund?
How to access it?
What is the Capital Structure?
How to maintain a balanced working capital?
What are all the sources of funds for working capital?
What are the norms prescribed by the banks for working capital loans?
Although the subject being bit tough but the prescribed reality that one way or the other, all process to translate dream into reality must have the source of funds or funds as a source. Having said this, the propensity to learn the crux of information in details could be a major task for many. This was the place where Mr.Rafi Mohammed Syed had played a vital role by disseminating those direly needed information that perfectly relished the appetite of the emerging leaders of IIPM. The intricacies of the subject were explained in a clear manner.
Apart from being a keen listener to the lecture it was also his strenuous efforts which helped sustain the harmony through out the entire presentation whilst keeping all question’s answered at times. It becomes apparent with this note about the impression that this particular presentation made to all of us. It is all about the enthusiasm and the excitement prevailed among the colleagues at the end of the session and also the positive feedback given by them.
